Saharan heritage as a lever for developing local and international tourism in Algeria

Abstract

Algeria's Saharan heritage represents a major asset for the development of tourism, both nationally and internationally. Among its most emblematic components, the ancestral ksour bear witness to a rich architectural and cultural heritage, the enhancement of which could strengthen the tourist appeal of the south of the country. This study aims to analyze the potential of the ksour of Moughel (Béchar) and Boukayes (Béni Abbès) as levers for the development of cultural and sustainable tourism, by highlighting their specific architectural, socio-cultural and heritage features.
