This paper presents an in-depth study that examines the impact of the neovernacular approach as an alternative to the identity-lacking architecture of contemporary Algerian cities in arid regions. It highlights the complex interactions between space, environment, culture, and society in the Algerian Sahara. The study focuses on a particular experience, that of the El Miniawy brothers, who played a major role in transforming the architectural and urban landscape of the region. The paper evaluates the impact of cultural identity on urban planning and analyzes the methods and achievements of the El Miniawy brothers.
