تعدّ الأسرة اللّبنة الأولى في بناء المجتمع وازدهاره، وقيامها على أسس سليمة من شأنه أن يحفظ النّظام العام، ويسهم في دفع عجلة النّماء والتطوّر إلى الأمام والأفضل. . . ونظرا لأهمية الأسرة ومكانتها عبر الأزمان والعصور، ومن أجل الإسهام في إرساء كلّ ما يحفظها ويذلّل ما يعتريها من معوّقات وصعوبات، جاءت هذه الورقة ؛ لتبيّن جانبا مهمّا من قضايا هذه المؤسسة الصغيرة، وهو مسألة القوامة في الأسرة المسلمة المعاصرة في بلاد الغرب، بصفتها جزء لا يتجزّأ من الأمّة الإسلاميّة، التي تستوجب الاهتمام بمشاكلها، خاصّة ما يمسّ أمر دينها. ومسألة القوامة من أكبر ما تتعرّض له الأسرة المسلمة المعاصرة في الغرب، فهي صراع بين ما تسنّه القوانين من حرّيّات شخصيّة، وبين الحفاظ والتمسّك بالهويّة الأمّ وهي ما نصّ عليه الدّين الإسلامي الحنيف. وقوامة الرجل على المرأة في الأسرة من أكبر المسائل التي دارت حولها الدراسات والكتابات، سواء في الفكر الإسلامي أو الغربي، وهي في صراع دائم مع ما يسنّ من قوانين وحريات تحت شعار حقوق الإنسان.
