    يقوم المنهج النقدي لتحديد سعر الصـرف على خاصية أساسيـة تميزه عن كل من منهـج المرونـات و منهج الاستيعاب، ألا و هي ربط التوازن في سوق النقود بالتوازن الخارجي.يلخص النموذج محددات سعر الصرف في: العرض النقدي الحقيقي النسبي، الدخل الحقيقي النسبي، معدلات الفائدة النسبية، معدلات التضخم النسبية ورصيد الحساب الجاري المحلي و الأجنبي. The monetary approach of exchange rate is based on basic characteristic which distinguish it form elasticities and absorption approaches, this characteristic is linking equilibrium in money market to the external equilibrium. The model summarizes the determinants of exchange rate in the relative real money supply, relative real income, relative interest rates, relative inflation rate, foreign and domestic current account .
