(Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Batna1 University, 2025-01-31) Asma BENTAHAR
This article will deal with the presence of oriental thought in narrative work of the 20th century of Jorge Luis Borges. So, throughout this work we will talk about the origin of Jorge Luis Borges' strong passion for Arab culture, which was part of his narrative. Then, we will address the role that The Thousand and One Nights played in changing his thinking and literary style. In addition, we will analyze in detail his work, The Aleph, in which the presence of the eastern Arab culture was noted. For this, our objective is to study through what Borges had contact with the Eastern world, how the culture of this world influenced his thinking and how he introduced it as a present and constant element in his literary works.
