Abstract

The architectural and urban heritage of desert cities is remarkably diverse in both form and type. However, preserving and utilizing this heritage is often deemed nearly impossible due to its vast geographical expanse, the overlapping nature of its styles, and their similarities. To address this challenge, the Ministry of Culture and Arts, through the Algerian Centre for Cultural Heritage built in mud (CAPTERRE) and other affiliated cultural institutions, has sought to promote the preservation of national heritage. This step is achieved by establishing awareness-raising and practical workshops targeting children and primary school students firstly in the Timimoun’s wilaya (province), with the aim of expanding the initiative to middle and high school students, across the province and neighboring regions.
