Abstract
Televised violence represents one of the most significant educational and psychological challenges facing modern societies, especially with the rapid expansion of visual media and the ease with which children can access content that may contain varying degrees of violent scenes. Television, with its unique ability to combine sound, image, and motion, does not merely transmit information—it imprints behavioral patterns in the minds of viewers, particularly children, which may later be reflected in real-life behavior.Studies have shown that children who are continuously exposed to violent content are more likely to adopt aggressive behaviors or, at the very least, develop emotional numbness toward the suffering of others. This leads to a diminished capacity for empathy and a weakening of value-based judgment between constructive and destructive behaviors. Repeated exposure to conflicts and confrontations may also give the impression that violence is a legitimate way to resolve disputes, affecting the child’s relationships within the family and at school.
