Abstract

The Saharan architectural and urban heritage is an exceptional testimony to adaptation to extreme climatic conditions and to ancestral building know-how. However, rapid modernization, increasing urbanization and socio-economic transformations threaten the conservation of this heritage. In this context, international exchanges and cooperation play a fundamental role in safeguarding and enhancing Saharan buildings, by promoting the transfer of knowledge, the mobilization of expertise and the development of sustainable preservation strategies.
