Abstract
This academic research addresses the topic of the shifts in the socialisation patterns of children in the digital age, focusing on the phenomenon of the "digital educator" and its sociological effects on the family and the child. The research is based on a theoretical sociological framework that includes functional theory, critical theory, uses and gratifications theory, and technological determinism, to explain how digital platforms transform from technical tools to influential socialisation factors that compete with traditional institutions such as the family and school. The researchers sought to analyse the dimensions of this transformation by studying the characteristics of the digital educator (attractiveness, constant availability, personalisation, instant reinforcement) and its effects on family relationships, parental authority, and patterns of social interaction. Digital parenting creates complex challenges, including value conflicts and negative psychological effects, but it also offers new opportunities to enrich the parenting process if it is dealt with consciously and balanced, which calls for the development of modern educational strategies that integrate the traditional and digital to ensure the healthy development of children in the contemporary digital environment.
