Abstract
This study aims to shed light on how the digital environment contributes to shaping the child's value system, behavior, and cognitive development, especially given the increasing involvement of children in using various forms of digital media. The study highlights that digital content has become a major source influencing a child's upbringing, whether through presenting behavioral models, transmitting value systems, or providing knowledge and information.
The findings indicate that continuous interaction with the digital environment helps instill certain values in the child, which may be positive—such as tolerance and cooperation—or negative—such as violence and excessive consumerism—depending on the nature of the content presented. Behaviorally, children are often influenced by what they watch or interact with, relying heavily on imitation without a deep understanding of consequences. Cognitively, the digital environment offers a rich source of information, but in the absence of proper guidance, it may expose children to inaccurate or misleading content.
The study concludes that the diverse effects of the digital environment can be positively directed through the active involvement of families, educational institutions, and media organizations in guidance and supervision. It also recommends integrating digital media education into school curricula and promoting the production of safe, purposeful digital content that supports the child's balanced development.
