Item Application des Systèmes d’Information Géographique (SIG) pour la Conservation du Patrimoine Culturel et Naturel de la Vallée du M'Zab (Ghardaïa, Algérie)(جامعة باتنة 1, 2025-04-23) Farid Dalal; Benhalilou Karima; Benhalilou KarimaThe M'Zab Valley, located in the Saharan region of Ghardaïa in Algeria, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1982. Renowned for its unique architecture, harmonious social organization, and remarkable adaptation to the arid environment, this region now faces major challenges such as uncontrolled urbanization, environmental degradation, and socio-economic pressures. This research explores the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to preserve this exceptional heritage by actively involving local communities in sustainable and participatory management. The study focuses on analyzing spatial dynamics using satellite imagery (Landsat 1984–2024 and Sentinel-2) to identify and understand the threats to the region, particularly the risk of sand encroachment. Through mapping, GIS makes it possible to locate vulnerable cultural and natural sites and to produce environmental vulnerability maps.Based on these analyses, solutions and recommendations will be proposed to mitigate the negative impacts of urban expansion. These measures aim to protect fragile heritage sites while promoting balanced territorial development that respects the environment and the socio-cultural dynamics specific to the M'Zab Valley.Item Children's Media frome Entertainment to Formation "Towards a New Epistémologie for Children's Media in Light of Digital Transformations" Critical analytical study(جامعة باتنة 1, 2025-06-01) سمية أم لرقاب; عائشة قرةChildren's media has undergone profound transformations as a result of technological avancements and the digital transformation, shifting its focus from purely Entertainment to beeper formative and educational rôles. Today, it has become nécessaire to consider a new épistémologie (i.e., a comprehensive cognitive and méthodologique conception) for children's media that takes into account the cognitive and psychological needs of children in the digital environment. In addition, it Is imperative to ensure that the content Is of high qualité and has educational and cultural value. Anyone who follows the history of children's media will notice That it has primarily focused on Entertainment in the form of cartoons and Entertainment programs. However, due to the rapide digital transformations the world Is witnessing (the emergence of social media platforms, artificiel intelligence, augmented reality, virtual reality, and various applications in the digital environment), the latter has radically changed the way children interact with media content directed at them in particular, and with existing media content in général. This makes it imperative to rethink media content directed at. children, taking into account That children are no longer passive recipients, but rather have become active and involved in both the production and selection of content.Item Cultural Tourism as a Strategy for Socio-Economic Inclusion and Local Development: The Case of Zab Chergui in the Ziban Micro-Region(جامعة باتنة 1, 2025-04-23) Soumia BOUZAHER LALOUANIThis study examines cultural tourism as a strategic approach for fostering socio-economic inclusion and sustainable local development within the oases of Zab Chergui, situated in the Ziban micro-region, currently part of the Wilaya of Biskra. The proposed framework emphasizes the development of organized tourist circuits designed to create a dynamic system of socio-economic growth. These circuits aim to stabilize local Oasian populations while simultaneously preserving the region’s architectural heritage, traditional urban cores, and local craftsmanship. The primary objective of this work is to integrate these tourist circuits into an cultural tourism framework, thereby introducing the concept of socioeconomic inclusion. This concept aligns with the principles of sustainable development and social equity, seeking to ensure that all individuals can participate in and enjoy tourism activities without encountering barriers. Achieving this objective requires improving infrastructure accessibility, raising awareness among tourism sector stakeholders, and adapting services to meet diverse visitor needs.Item Digital Tools for the Enhancement of Saharan Heritage. The case of the Ziban micro-region(جامعة باتنة 1, 2025-04-23) MENASRA Asma; RAIS Safa; HADAGHA Fatma ZohraThe enhancement of heritage today constitutes an essential approach to addressing current global challenges. This approach appears necessary for Saharan heritage, a rich legacy often subjected to increasing pressures of anthropogenic and natural origin. Indeed, the implementation of valorization and preservation strategies becomes imperative to ensure this heritage's sustainability and exploit it for socioeconomic development. These strategies are gaining new momentum, especially with the evolution of digital tools, such as geographic information systems (GIS). The choice of these tools allows for precise and systematic documentation of heritageItem Enhancing International Collaboration in Heritage Preservation Through GIS and Spatial Syntax: A Strategic Approach for Sustainable Tourism in the Medina of Sousse(جامعة باتنة 1, 2025-04-23) Khelil Cherfi Khadidja; Merzelkad Rym; Hamza BenacerHeritage preservation in historic urban environments faces growing challenges due to rapid urbanization, unregulated tourism, and environmental pressures. UNESCO-listed sites, such as the Medina of Sousse, require strategic management approaches to ensure long-term sustainability while maintaining cultural and historical integrity. This study builds upon our previous research on this site that utilized Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and space syntax analysis to assess tourist flow, spatial vulnerabilities, and conservation challenges in the Medina of Sousse. While these methods provided valuable insights, the study identified limitations in optimizing spatial management strategies. To address these gaps, a systematic review of ten international case studies was conducted, examining advanced GIS applications, space syntax methodologies, and digital heritage conservation techniques. The findings highlight best practices for enhancing heritage site documentation, mitigating congestion, and integrating emerging technologies such as Digital Twins, Virtual Reality (VR), and Augmented Reality (AR) to balance accessibility and conservation. By refining GIS-based monitoring, predictive spatial modeling, and participatory mapping, this study demonstrates that heritage sites like Sousse can achieve more effective tourism management and long-term preservation. The proposed framework offers a scalable model for sustainable heritage conservation, emphasizing the importance of international collaboration, digital innovation, and participatory approaches. This research contributes to the modernization of heritage conservation practices by bridging the gap between theoretical spatial analysis and practical conservation strategies.Item Fragilité de la réglementation des villes oasiennes Fragility of the regulation of oasis towns(جامعة باتنة 1, 2025-04-23) Ziregue MeriemOasis towns, which lived in complete symbiosis with their natural desert environment, through the ingenuity of their populations, have demonstrated sustainability and ecology since the dawn of time. They are currently suffering from the continual loss of their identity, both through the degradation of their Ksourian heritage and through urban transformations unsuitable for these human organisms. The Algerian state has implemented regulatory mechanisms to preserve heritage and regulate urban space while maintaining the character of Saharan towns. However, in reality, these towns experience a continually deteriorating heritage and an anarchic built environment, which prompted us to conduct this study to identify the flaws in the regulations or their enforcement. A study based on a survey of stakeholders in the oasis towns, particulary in the town of Laghouat, allowed us to observe that both aspects are somewhat deficient: the regulations, firstly, due to their generality and the lack of specificity regardind the unique characteristics of oasis towns, and their application, secondly, because the responsible actors, such as preservation agents and municipal officials, are not sufficiently involved. We concluded our study with recommendations and perspectives for improving these legislative texts so that they are better suited to fieldworkItem Heritage and Urban Development: Reflections on the Preservation of Traditional Urban Centers in a Context of Modernization. Case of the Medina of Bou-Saâda.(جامعة باتنة 1, 2025-04-23) BELOUADAH NACEUR; Saïd MAZOUZThe built environment of traditional urban centers, such as the medina of Bou-Saada, is undergoing rapid urbanization, threatening its heritage integrity. Our study applies space syntax to analyze urban dynamics and identify factors contributing to degradation. The results reveal a diversity of spaces: some renovated, others abandoned. This heterogeneity requires a targeted approach balancing modernization and preservation. Integrating traditional spaces into a coherent urban planning strategy would ensure balanced development. Our recommendations aim to preserve cultural identity while addressing contemporary urban needs. The medina of Bou-Saada exemplifies these challenges, highlighting the necessity of a sustainable strategy to ensure its longevity amid urban transformations. Item Mechanical Performance of Local Materials in Sustainable Construction in the Arid Region of Southwestern Algeria.(جامعة باتنة 1, 2025-04-23) L. Lahmar; R. Abdeldjebar; B. DraouiThe primary objective is to evaluate the impact of environmental parameters on the mechanical properties of BTS. Compression and flexural tests were conducted to measure their resistance under various conditions, such as water immersion, prolonged sun exposure, and high temperatures. The results show that these bricks meet resistance standards, with notable improvements after immersion in water or exposure to heat. However, prolonged exposure to humid soils reduces their performance. BTS represent a sustainable alternative to cement, which is commonly used but has a significant ecological impact. They help preserve traditional construction techniques, ensure better adaptation to Saharan climates, and strengthen the local architectural heritage. Moreover, the use of local materials like BTS stimulates the socio-economic development of Saharan regions. It promotes traditional know-how, creates jobs, and reduces dependency on imported materials. This approach thus contributes to environmental preservation, improves local living conditions, and enhances the sustainability of constructions in these regions. This research highlights the importance of BTS in reconciling heritage preservation, sustainable construction, and socio-economic development in Saharan environments.Item Mechanisms of media education for children in an artificial intelligence environment : Between Empowerment and protection(جامعة باتنة 1, 2025-06-01) صليحة العابدArtificial intelligence has become an essential element in children's daily lives, and this development is based on previous technological transformations brought about by television, the Internet, smartphones, tablets, and video games .The current digital landscape represents an important environmental transformation that has potential impacts on children's cognitive and emotional development that are not yet fully understood, because research In the effects of technology on children, it is complex and affected by the nature of screen activities, the child’s age, environment, and unique profiles Accordingly, it has become an urgent necessity to integrate media education into our educational curricula, activate the role of parental mediation, and review its mechanisms that are no longer sufficient to protect children and activate them with the accompanying educational, moral and cultural opportunities and challenges to enable children to achieve media awareness, critical thinking and safe and responsible use of media digital; This is purely the problem of the study: What are the effective mechanisms of media education that enable children to consciously deal with digital content produced by artificial intelligence? What are the ways to protect it from the risks of misinformation, manipulation and inappropriate content?Item Modernizing the architectural vocabulary of the Saharan heritage: - A comparative study between the case of traditional and modern individual housing in the city of Sidi Okba- Abstract(جامعة باتنة 1, 2025-04-23) شيماء صبري سيد الليثي; وليد مدورIn the past, the identity of the architecture of peoples was clear and reflected the characteristics of those peoples and their environmental and social advantages, but today the identity has been eroded and faded due to Western concepts, or what is called architectural modernism, where tall buildings have invaded all our cities, breaking the collars of privacy in architecture just as privacy has faded in aspects of life, but the issue raised by this intervention is that we as recipients are no longer able to select what is useful in order to achieve a balance between modern influences and inherited ones, while benefiting from all the achievements of contemporary technologies and developments and integrating them with our heritage cultural history, in order to create our own architectural identity, by integrating the environmental elements used with the ancient desert heritage architecture, and reinterpreting them. In order to find our own architectural identity, by integrating the environmental elements used in ancient desert heritage architecture, recharacterizing and developing heritage architectural vocabulary with environmental solutions within a technological framework that preserves identity, ensures the application of sustainability principles, reduces the energy used in the building, and relies on renewable energies to be more environmentally friendly.Item Multimedia’s Role in Shaping Young Minds, Culture, and Creativity(جامعة باتنة 1, 2025-06-01) Meriam Benlakdar; Rima KamelThis study explores the transformative impact of multimedia on shaping children's understanding of identity and culture in an increasingly digital world. As children are exposed to diverse narratives through various media formats, there arises a pressing need to examine how these experiences influence their perceptions of self and cultural belonging and enhance their creativity and imagination. The primary aim of this research is to analyze the ways in which multimedia content—such as animated series (for instance Avatar and Sesame Street), interactive storybooks (such as « Where is my water ? ») and interactive applications (such as Duolingo) —affect children's conceptualizations of identity and cultural diversity and stimulate their creativity.Item New Trend of Violence Animation Reflected to Kids through Manga Series(جامعة باتنة 1, 2025-06-01) Faten RIDENEThis presentation explores the intersection between animated media aesthetics and their psychosocial impact on children, with a specific focus on Japanese manga-based television series such as Naruto, Hunter × Hunter, and similar productions dubbed and broadcast in the Arab world. Framed by theoretical lenses from the sociology of cinema (Morin; Bourdieu), media influence models (Gerbner’s cultivation theory; Bandura’s social learning theory), and psychological research on media violence (Berkowitz; Anderson), the study examines how stylized depictions of violence may aect young viewers’ empathy, aggression, and cognitive- emotional development. A comparative content analysis of Arabic-dubbed series highlights the narrative framing of conflict and its potential role in shaping moral judgments and behavioral imitation. The inquiry integrates pediatric and pedopsychiatric perspectives, raising concerns about the rise in diagnoses of autism spectrum traits, ADHD, and anxiety in regions with high unsupervised digital media exposure. The presentation calls for a re- evaluation of children's screen time policies, advocating for culturally informed media literacy and active parental mediation in the Arab region.Item Online Food Advertising: Mutual Influence and Parental Bans(جامعة باتنة 1, 2025-06-01) كهينة بركونThe massive exposure of children to advertisements for foods with poor nutritional value, combined with the rise in obesity, has led to growing support for advertising regulation internationally. Lobbies representing the food industry, advertisers, and the media have, however, prevented regulation in many countries. In this context, support for regulation from civil society, particularly parents, is strongly needed. The objective of this survey is to describe and analyze the factors associated with parents' opinions on the impact and banning of televised food advertising aimed at children. An online survey will be conducted among a few Algerian parents regarding food advertising, and their sociodemographic characteristics will be analyzed using multivariate logistic regressionsItem Preservation of saharian heritage: contributions of international exchanges and cooperation policies - cross-perspectives with the experiences of morocco, tunisia and saudi arabia(جامعة باتنة 1, 2025-04-23) فنتوس أمينة; بن نجاعي راضيةThe Saharan architectural and urban heritage is an exceptional testimony to adaptation to extreme climatic conditions and to ancestral building know-how. However, rapid modernization, increasing urbanization and socio-economic transformations threaten the conservation of this heritage. In this context, international exchanges and cooperation play a fundamental role in safeguarding and enhancing Saharan buildings, by promoting the transfer of knowledge, the mobilization of expertise and the development of sustainable preservation strategies.Item Preservation Of The Saharan Architectural Heritage -Between Rehabilitation and Inspiration-(جامعة باتنة 1, 2025-04-23) صليحة عباس; صلاح الدين معلمThe Saharan urban and architectural heritage is as ancient as the societies that inhabited the desert. One of its most prominent features is the k'sor, or palaces, which are groups of fortified dwellings with high walls, covered in a compact, homogeneous structure. The k'sor community in the Algerian desert represents a model that preserves the urban, social, and cultural characteristics of its inhabitants. These are valuable heritage landmarks that must be preserved. Heritage preservation can be achieved in two main ways. The first involves direct intervention in existing heritage through restoration, renovation, protection, maintenance, and adaptive reuse, aiming to retain its unique character and artistic value while protecting it from natural and human-induced damage. The second approach draws inspiration from the richness of heritage elements and components, using them as a foundation for contemporary architectural and urban practices.Item Preserving and modernizing the Algerian saharan architectural heritage: Challenges and opportunities(جامعة باتنة 1, 2025-04-23) FENGHOUR ABIR; CHETARA AÏCHADespite their harsh climatic conditions, Saharan regions hold a rich historical, cultural, and architectural heritage shaped by ancient civilizations. This legacy includes ksour, earthen houses, and medinas, which showcase traditional construction techniques adapted to extreme desert environments. These structures create favorable microclimates and promote a sustainable way of life, embodying the identity of Saharan communities.Item Reviving Desert Heritage: "Drawing Innovation from Global Cultural Projects in Similar Environments(جامعة باتنة 1, 2025-04-23) وفاء بالحبيب; العيدي طويلSaharan heritage, in general, and Algerian heritage, in particular, constitute fundamental pillars of the cultural identity of communities that have lived in arid environments, This heritage reflects a deep interaction between humans and their harsh environment over the centuries, However, this valuable legacy is now facing multiple challenges, ranging from environmental impacts such as climate change to social and economic pressures associated with globalization and rapid urbanization, In light of these challenges, the revival of Saharan heritage has become an urgent necessity—not only to preserve it but also to repurpose it in innovative ways that contribute to sustainable development, Recognizing the importance of the interaction between cultural heritage and contemporary innovation, this research aims to explore strategies for reviving Saharan heritage by drawing inspiration from global cultural projects established in similar environments. The study adopts a comparative approach to analyze successful projects that have managed to preserve cultural identity while leveraging it for tourism and economic development, all while ensuring environmental sustainability.Item Rising generations and their role in preserving the saharan architectural and urban heritage(جامعة باتنة 1, 2025-04-23) كاسو يونس; علقمة جمال; بوزاهر سميةThe architectural and urban heritage of desert cities is remarkably diverse in both form and type. However, preserving and utilizing this heritage is often deemed nearly impossible due to its vast geographical expanse, the overlapping nature of its styles, and their similarities. To address this challenge, the Ministry of Culture and Arts, through the Algerian Centre for Cultural Heritage built in mud (CAPTERRE) and other affiliated cultural institutions, has sought to promote the preservation of national heritage. This step is achieved by establishing awareness-raising and practical workshops targeting children and primary school students firstly in the Timimoun’s wilaya (province), with the aim of expanding the initiative to middle and high school students, across the province and neighboring regions.
